Our Favorite Travel Bloggers

We owe much of what we know to others we follow on YouTube. If you are like us and watch a lot of YouTube, make sure to like and subscribe to your favorite creators so the algorithm shares them to even more viewers.

Retirement Travelers: John and Bev are retirees who started traveling the US full time in an AirStream during COVID, and are now the traveling the world. If you want to learn about full time travel or any of the over 100 countries they’ve visited, check them out. Their website contains destination guides and we have used their online store as a guide for equipment purchases that we have used on the road ourselves.

Finding Gina Marie: Judy and Kevin are full-time travelers who have some very honest takes on their travels as well as their relationships. A recent video on staying healthy while traveling really struck a chord with us, and their website is what convinced me to move over to Squarespace.

Happy to Wander: Christina’s destination guides are chock full of information She also maintains a website which contains detailed recommendations for carryon only travel & her go to travel equipment, e-sims, accommodation site booking & more. Christina’s guides are amongst the first that we check when considering a destination.

Grounded Life Retirement Travel: Rob and Allie were the folks that turned us on to the IHG points world, which paid for our entire accommodation stay in Japan, including two free nights in Osaka. They have other channels on topics such as cruising and travel in general.

Away Together with Nik and Allie: We’ve picked up a lot of travel swag based on Nik and Allie’s recommendations, and their video on Global Entry got us moving and made our airport trips slick and easy. Our credit cards also paid the cost for TSA Pre-Check & Global Entry. It was also a sale on their website that got us our first year of Daily Drop Pro at half price. They recently started Away Together Travel Rewards, a channel dedicated to points and miles.

Daily Drop: The Daily Drop website is an incredible tool for finding great fares and maximizing your points. The YouTube channel goes beyond that, with travel ideas, credit card hacks and so much more.

Portable Professional: Megan and her side kick Ollie prepare a highly focused weekly travel video. The focus includes topics as focused as how to act on an airplane, how to prepare for extended flights, or what you need to know about ETA, ETIAS, or the Schengen Zone.

Brian and Carrie: Brian and Carrie have changed up their travel style recently, transitioning from full time slow travel to a more medium speed travel. We’ve gotten interesting info on lengthy cruises and some slow travel pointers… but we are not there yet. They maintain a website worth checking out that has budgeting tools and tips for travel.

DFBGuide (Disney Food Blog): As a school administrator and owner of a Disney Time Share, Vinny has needed up-to-date Disney information. The (advertisement-heavy) DFB website has maps, guides, and news that can help any Disney traveler be better prepared for next week, next month, or next year.

Frequent Miler: We travel way below the level the Frequent Milers are traveling, but the information on points and miles has frequently guided us to making choices on how to move forward. We don’t always agree (specifically about IHG) but we still find value here. Their website has lots of in-depth information as well.

Maurice Moves: When we were headed to Japan, we found Maurice Moves. We’ve since taken a lot of his advice on EDC, packing light, and we bought two of his Flight Fold wallets for future travel.

Kensho Quest: George and Heidi have 20 years experience visiting Japan and 16 years as digital nomads. Their advice on Japan, packing light and traveling in general has been a terrific resource for us. Their website has a great deal of Japan-centric travel info.

Ninja Monkey Guy: When we were preparing for our Japan adventure, we needed some help with our Japanese. DuoLingo is great but for Japanese it’s a little short on practical vocabulary. Ninja Monkey had 16 phrases that really set us up for success and lots of other great info for Japan touring.

Piqtour Japan: Abbie is a photographer and a tour guide who answered many of our very narrow but important Japan questions and gave us our first look at the Red Brick Warehouse in Yokohama, showing us the Wagyu Beef we tried at Shogun Burger. Abbie offers guided tours and photo shoots thru her website.
